I want to write a book. All my friends have written books!
A book is a great way to market your products and services, it shows your target audience that you are an expert in your field. It gives you some credibility you don’t otherwise have drives traffic to you. After all, people want to meet the author, interview the author, have the author come and speak. A book can really help you market your business.
I have been trying to write a book for several years now, I won’t tell you how many. Although you don’t see a book here, I haven’t been completely unsuccessful, I did write an ebook that has been widely distributed to my fan base. I have actually started several books, done the necessary research, hired a ghost writer, talked to people in the industry and have even been approached by a reputable publishing company offering an advance. So why, you might ask, have I not yet published a book? Well, I’m a sales expert not a “how to get a book finished” expert, and like many things we procrastinate on the things we are not so good at or that seem overwhelming.
Many of the business owners I work with put off sales, the way I have been putting of getting my book finished. My good friend said to me the other day, “Alice, you don’t want to write a book, you want to have a book.” And she was exactly right. I know all of you want to have more sales, but do you know how to do the selling work to get them?
So, how am I going to get my book finished? Exactly the same way you are going to start increasing sales. I’m going to hire a coach to help me do it. I am comparing several companies right now who can help me finish my book and get it published and I am going to hire one of them and then I will have a book! Just like you will have more sales if you hire me, or another reputable sales coach to help you get more sales.
