Alice R. Heiman

President and Chief Sales Officer

Alice Heiman Personal Factioids:
Daughter of author and sales guru Steve Heiman
As a teen sold bras at the Englishtown Auction
Her dog Ozzie loves to sail
Mouses with her left hand
Owned a children’s bookstore called Book Adventures

Where you were born and raised: New Jersey ( a Jersey Girl)
How many years in Reno: moved to Reno in 1994 to work for her father’s company Miller Heiman, Inc.  Now she can’t imagine living anywhere else.  An avid skier, she can look out her office window and decide if she should head up to Mt. Rose for a few runs (like she ever has time to do that!)
Education:  College in Bloomington, Indiana – Go Big Red.  Masters at National Louis University.  She has no education whatsoever in business, that may be what makes her so good.  Learned everything she knows about sales from teaching kindergarten. She leaps tall buildings with a single bound, Some of her clients call her AMP.

What you do at AH: “I am the boss so I get to drive everyone nuts, mess my office up, talk on the phone, use the computer, throw the ball for Ozzie and visit clients.”

Alice makes sure her clients can increase sales. She does whatever it takes to turn those salespeople into awesome selling machines.  She works with sales management to turn them into terrific coaches, and she helps senior management build a sales culture that will continue to grow their business.

Inventor of the BizTalk Blender, networking is one of Alice’s great passions in life.  She wants everyone to know how to network effectively so she has designed a workshop to teach people to network and invented an event that allows people to network in a structured environment that guarantees they will meet people they can do business with.

She is a starter of things.  She has started several networking groups because she was tired of joining networking groups that didn’t network.

What you do in your spare time? What is spare time?  Sail, ski, walk, play with my friends kids, read, hang out with family.  Her passion is education and since she is no longer an elementary school teacher she reaches out into the community to support projects for kids.  Her big project is the Nevada Discovery Museum as she calls it, her second full time job, where she a board member, chair of the campaign steering committee (which means she is in charge of making sure the money gets raised) and cheerleader.   She is a facebook junkie and gets on there when she can.  She has a large collection of children’s books that she covets.

Liz Heiman

E-Marketing Team Leader

Liz Heiman with AliceHeiman.com Personal factoids:
Sister of Alice
I live on the Big Island of Hawaii
I have seen more of Japan than most Japanese
I often have exchange students living at my house.

I was born and raised in Manalapan, NJ and went to school in Hightstown, NJ.  I did my undergraduate studies at UC Davis in Sacramento, and spent my senior year in Japan. I did my graduate work at UC Santa Barbara in International Political Economy and spent two years at a Japanese University on a Japanese Ministry of Education Grant doing research about US-Japanese Trade.   I moved to Reno in 1997 to become the Director of Asia Pacific Division of Miller Heiman.   I had the rare opportunity to run sales training programs for leading corporations all over Asia.  I moved to Hawaii in 2002 where I now work as a sales and marketing consultant.

I am part of Alice’s team whereever she needs me.  You most often find me behind the scenes helping make projects work.  Sometimes, I am the one that turns an idea into a program. I might be the one who edited an article or the website.  Sometimes I am the one who will work with you to make sure you are successful in your networking or sales objectives.

For a long time now, my spare time has been all about my daughter and my community.   Living in Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii is a lot like living in Reno because it is a small town and individuals can make a difference.  I currently sit on the board of directors of our local hospital district, am incoming Vice President of our local Rotary, and help with development at Hualalai Academy.  When I am not working, or driving or volunteering, there are three things I love to do: read, go to the beach and do crafts.  My favorite thing to do is to read at the beach
